About
A small studio of designers and developers.
We design and build websites, online shops and web apps. Every project is planned carefully, coded to last and usable by everyone.
01 The name
Why “new city”?
Novengrad comes from novi grad, which means “new city”. We chose it because a website works a lot like a place: people arrive, look around, find their way and decide whether to stay.
In practice that means a clear structure, clean code, room to add pages and features later, and attention to detail. The maps, grids and buildings on this site are a visual nod to the name.
02 Principles
Our principles.
Six rules we follow on every project, large or small.
- § 01
Plan first
We agree on structure and goals before we design anything. Good visuals depend on a solid plan.
- § 02
Speed matters
Every project gets a performance budget. Fast sites are better for visitors, for older phones and for search rankings.
- § 03
Accessible to everyone
Every site meets WCAG 2.2 AA, so people who use screen readers, keyboards or zoom can use it too. It’s included in every plan.
- § 04
No tricks
Hand-written code, real content and no dark patterns: no fake urgency, hidden costs or misleading buttons.
- § 05
Easy to change
Design systems and simple editing tools let your site grow without a rebuild.
- § 06
Small pages
Fewer scripts, optimised images and efficient hosting. Less data means faster loading and lower energy use.
